Happy Mondays, everyone.

I wanted to check in this morning with a small follow-up to my last video.

It’s been heartening to see how much people care. But I also want to gently remind us: every honest expression is not a crisis.

We often measure ourselves against the lives of others we see online, forgetting that what’s shown is usually the highlight reel — the parts we choose to reveal. What we don’t often see is that behind the big holidays, VIP accommodations and bright opportunities, those quietly carry insecurities, doubt, sadness, fear of failure, or the feeling of not being enough — sometimes begging for your acceptance and approval. For a like or a comment of affirmation.

I have many beautiful days.
And I have my share of hard ones too — sometimes just as many.
I realised recently that I tend to share the bright moments publicly, while the difficult ones stay tucked away in journals and private reflections. I rarely post good days in my journal for me to revisit. Am I being honest with myself, or are the highlights just for outward appreciation?

So this is simply an encouragement:
Listen to one another.
Make space for honesty.

Not so we live in a cloud of sadness, but so that on our good days we can give thanks — and on someone else’s difficult day, we can offer steady support. A reminder that none of us are walking alone.

Let’s normalise truth.
Struggling is not weakness.
It is not failure.
We only truly lose when we surrender hope. With care, patience, and community, struggle can become strength. There’s usually an opportunity in the obstacle.

If you’re having a hard time, please speak about it.
Your story might help someone else find courage — and their courage might one day steady you.

Epictetus said:

“We don’t control what happens, but we control how we respond.”

And from one of my favourite quotes, James Baldwin said:

“The world is held together by the love and passion of a very few people.”

Let’s choose to be among those people —
responding with kindness, leading with compassion, and with care.

Keep on keepin’ on, my friends.
Life isn’t always easy.
But it is far better when we support one another along the way.
